Udaipur has various names I suppose some people call it city of lakes, some says its full of culture and heritage because of its history, some says the city looks like that it has been taken from the pages of a fairy tale.

All of these are true, you cannot simply ignore the beauty of its lakes, palaces, and historic houses which portray the traits of its culture. I just could not resist myself by giving a brief overview of the city which is also known as “Venice of the East.”

A very useful suggestion, always book in advance so that you can get good deals on flights and hotels, plus not many people know that if you book the hotel at the end of the July then you can easily book a stay in a five star hotel at a very good price. Let’s start with the itinerary of our 3 nights and 4 days trip to Udaipur.

  • Day 1: We booked the flight for 14:30 as our hotel check in was at 15:00 so reaching early was definitely not an option as my husband would have killed me. We booked Radisson Blu Udaipur Palace Resort and Spa – like my blog title suggests it’s going to be a sumptuous trip. So, the hotel is almost 45 mins away from the airport if you take a cab. We decided to rest for the first day and visit the Fateh Sagar lake as it’s 10 mins drive from the hotel but we prefer to walk, do not forget whenever we go on trips we suddenly become this walking couple who loves to enjoy what is around them and appreciate it. We had the best Italian food at the Pizzeria by the Lake restaurant which is a part of Hotel Lakend with the Fateh Sagar lake view.
  • Day 2: After enjoying our lovely breakfast, now it’s time to get ready because even today we decided to take long walks to the famous lake pichola, city palace, jagmandir palace, but we instead took an auto ride as it was pretty humid and weather was not with us. It will cost around 30 rs entry ticket to City palace, 300 rs ticket to see what’s inside the palace and 500 rs per person for the boat ride which will take you to Jagmandir palace. We had our lunch at Jagmandir palace and the food was good as it came with the lake view.
  • Day 3: Our next stop was Monsoon Palace and to be very honest when I first visited the place in 2017, it had a totally different vibe or I was young and dumb. So you can either book a taxi, take your own car or walk for 3 kms to see the view of the whole Udaipur city. Bad day or decision as it was very much crowded and humid so as soon as we finished taking the photos, we decided to take the 3 kms walk on our way back.
  • Day 4: Time to say goodbye for now and head towards home.

We had a bad experience with Uber and Ola as nobody was taking the ride and asking for the cash directly and canceling the ride on the app. The hospitality of Radisson blu was good but then the business class room that we booked was not worth the price we paid. I would like to end this blog by saying that maybe I had very high expectations from the city as when I first visited it was quiet and calm.
