Paneer dishes never fail our taste buds!! Be it the tricky paneer butter masala, paneer tikka or simply our savior the paneer bhurji; paneer recipes are always a hit! Paneer bhurji takes less time and is fulfilling as well. But it breaks our heart when this amazing dish turns out dry or hard. So, I am sharing this Paneer Bhurji recipe alongwith some noteworthy tips, which will give you a creamy, soft and super delicious Paneer Bhurji. Eat it with crispy paranthas, roti or simply with toasted bread, you will love it. So lets start…


Crumbled Paneer            : 250-300 gm

Onion                             : 2 medium (finely chopped)

Tomato                          : 2 large (finely chopped)

Green chili                     : 1 (finely chopped)

Ghee or Oil                    : 2 tbsp

Ginger-garlic paste        : 1 tbsp

Red chili powder            : 1/2 tsp

Turmeric                         : 1/4 tsp

Coriander powder          : 1 tsp

Cumin powder                : 1/2 tsp

Amchoor powder            : 1/4 tsp

Garam Masala                 : 1/4 tsp

Salt                                  : to taste

Cream                              : 2-3 tbsp

Coriander & Kasoori Methi for garnish


  1. Heat a pan and pour ghee / oil in it; and saute ginger-garlic paste for less than a minute.
  2. Add chopped onions and chili in it and sauté till golden.
  3. Add chopped tomatoes and cook till it’s fully mushy, add salt and little water at this stage. You can cover the pan with lid to quickly cook the tomatoes.
  4. When tomatoes are nicely done, add all the spices except garnish. Add water for a liquid consistency.
  5. Add crumbled paneer, mix well and let it simmer for few seconds.
  6. Finally add cream, chopped coriander and kasoori methi and mix.
  7. Serve the cream Paneer Bhurji hot.

Important tips to not let the paneer bhurji turn dry and hard:

  1. Use good or sufficient amount of onion-tomato tadka for amazing flavor bombs
  2. Add some water in tadka before adding paneer i.e. maintain a liquid consistency
  3. Add little fresh cream for a smooth texture
